Give them a like on Facebook or get in touch with them. Trinity Cakes has been running for 3 years and has a loyal customer base with almost 60 5* reviews on Facebook. You can find them on the cakes page of our local directory.

I recently asked Karen a few questions about her business. Here’s what she said.

How did you get into starting the business?

I got into starting this business after having long term issues with my back.

I was medically dismissed from my job as a senior carer and then made a cake for a friend’s grandson. they thoroughly enjoyed the cake, which in turn led to more and more people asking me to bake them cakes.

What is the most rewarding part of running your own business?

People’s reactions to my cakes and seeing returning customers come back for more!

What has been the most difficult part of it?

The most difficult part has been to have the courage of moving from a career of 35 years and then becoming established.

Any plans to expand in the future?

Who knows… lots of plans afoot for Trinity Cakes.

Dll will Be revealed in due course.

Any advice to young people in the area looking to start a business?

Do your homework, believe in yourself and do not give up when the going gets tough.

What’s your favourite thing about Torbay?

The variety of things to do, from the town centre to harbour and being all within close proximity.

Thank you Karen for your answers and congratulations on Trinity Cakes’ success so far.
