Little Squirrels runs home based and outdoor nature activities with morning sessions primarily aimed at children up to 5 years old and their parents. By popular request Little Squirrels is now fully insured to offer a custom 2 hour outdoor sessions for kids and adults of all ages. Group bookings from home education families, childminders and for birthdays very welcome.
Parent and Child group provides a gentle play space indoors for little ones to explore toys made from natural materials, encouraging imaginative, free play. Parents are offered a space to sit and talk (warm cuppa in hand), forming valuable friendships and support networks. We will create a seasonal craft to take home. This is followed by games, vegan snacks and a play opportunity at the local park or with the mud kitchen in the garden. The session finishes with a story.
The outdoor explorers group and the woodland explorers group both provide a chance to be out and about splashing in puddles, running through grass and collecting nature treasure for a group craft. We will sit down to enjoy a vegan snack, outdoor games and songs finishing the session with a story. The group will go ahead in all weather’s waterproofs, wellies and a spare set of clothing are strongly recommended.
A special Family Explorers session runs once a month on Saturdays so mum’s, dad’s and all kids can explore off the beaten track together.
All sessions run during term time only and cost £5, £2.50 for siblings over 6m. If booking two sessions in the same week a discount applies so two sessions are just £7.50. Family session costs £2.50 per child.
Payable in advance in order to confirm booking.

Here’s what some of Little Squirrel’s happy customers have said about them…
Lovely group, great for meeting other families, getting out into nature. Loved the end craft activity, singing and snack too! Thank you xx
We have been going to Little Squirrels since the group started and we love it! Anne is very friendly and easy to talk to. My daughter is now 18 months old, but we started when she was only about 10 months old.
The Monday session at Anne’s home is nice and relaxed and whilst the children get to play with some lovely toys the parents get a bit of time to make something crafty or edible.
We also go to the outdoor explorers session on Wednesdays at Cockington. This is great for letting the little ones investigate the natural environment and have mini adventures of their own.
Anne also makes yummy vegan snacks for every session so we are always well fed as well!
Little Squirrels is a great way to enjoy the outdoors with other parents and little ones. Anne plans lovely crafts, stories and yummy snack to encourage outdoor exploring. I think it’s a great gift idea too!
Lovely friendly group and great to get the little ones exploring outside. My little boy starts school in September so am sad we won’t be able to attend any more. I would highly recommend this group
