I recently asked Helen a few questions about her business… Here’s what she had to say.

How did you get into starting the business?

Whilst working as a nurse on a surgical ward I embarked on my midwife training. I met a nurse who told me about her local beauty salon had a nurse visit to do restylane treatments.

What is the most rewarding part of running your own business?

I get great satisfaction from helping people. Aesthetics has a huge psychological element. The treatments I do for people change the way they feel. Puts smiles on faces, and thats amazing.

What has been the most difficult part of it?

I am vigilant about safety. Some treatments have a high risk of complications. Patient safety is paramount. Im always conscientious when injecting, and I always go the extra mile to ensure client satisfaction.

Any plans to expand in the future?

I am always interested in bringing new treatments into my clinic. Aesthetics is a rapidly growing and developing industry. I try to keep on top of new innovative treatments enabling me to provide the best for my clients.

Any advice to young people in the area looking to start a business?

Believe in yourself. Keep focused on your goal. be kind and compassionate.

What’s your favourite thing about Torquay?

Living on the coast, I love seeing the sea everyday. Yet within minutes i can be in the country. I love the diversity.

Thanks a lot to Helen for answering our questions and congratulations with all you’ve achieved so far.
