I recently asked Philip a few questions about his business and how he came to running it. Here’s what he said to us.
How did you end up doing what you’re doing?
I got into bouncy castles when doing I was doing my apprenticeship. I was looking for extra money and bought a bouncy castle to help. Because owning one bouncy castle went well, I decided to buy a few more.
Moorfun events now have over 40 inflatables.
What’s the most rewarding part of running the business?
I think the most rewarding part of doing bouncy castles is the children having fun. Seeing the expression on their faces and and the joy it brings them is a great feeling.
What’s the most challenging part of it?
The hardest part of the job is working weekends and not spending as much time with family as I should.
Any plans to expand in the future?
We have expanded this year and added a lot of different themes and inflatables to our inflatable range. We add a few different things every year.
Any advice to someone looking to start their own business?
My advice to anyone starting a business in the area is go for it. Drop yourself in the deep end and go for it.
What’s your favourite thing about Torbay?
Torbay is just an awesome place to be. Best part of the country and we love it here!
Thanks a lot to Philip for answering our questions.
